Moneybase accounts for students and young people

Modified on Wed, 22 Jul at 1:52 PM

If you are 16 or older, you can open a free Moneybase payment account in minutes through the app. You will receive a personal MT IBAN, free SEPA euro transfers, instant transfers to other Moneybase users, and a free virtual and physical Mastercard that works with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Xiaomi Pay, and Garmin Pay.

At 16 and 17 years of age, you can also make FX (foreign exchange) conversions. While FX is available, this feature is still being rolled out in the app. Until it is fully enabled, simply contact our Support team and we will process the FX conversion for you. Investing becomes available once you turn 18, in line with regulations.

About the €40 stipend bonus

Students who receive their stipend directly into their Moneybase IBAN are eligible for a €40 bonus. The bonus is linked to receiving your stipend through Moneybase and is offered as a welcome top-up to your stipend. Full terms and conditions apply.

Opening your account

Download the Moneybase app, complete the verification process using your passport or national ID, and your account is typically ready within minutes. Your virtual card is available immediately, so you can add it to your mobile wallet straight away.

Minors and under-16s

If you are under 16, a Moneybase account can be opened with the consent of a parent or legal guardian by contacting our Support team. From the age of 16, you can open your own individual account.
