Am I eligible for the Moneybase Welcome Bonus?

You may be eligible for one Moneybase Welcome Bonus when you start receiving your salary or student stipend/grant directly into your Moneybase account.


Each customer can receive the Welcome Bonus once only. This applies across both the Salary Welcome Bonus and the Student Stipend Bonus.


This means that if you receive a Salary Welcome Bonus, you cannot also receive a Student Stipend Bonus, and vice versa.


Salary Welcome Bonus


To qualify for a Salary Welcome Bonus, you must receive your salary directly into your Moneybase account.

The bonus amount depends on the salary amount received in a single payment.

To be eligible:

  • You must be a Maltese resident
  • You must be aged 18 or over
  • The salary must be received directly into your Moneybase account
  • The salary must be received as a single payment
  • The employer sending the salary must match the employer listed in your Moneybase profile
  • You must not have already received a Moneybase Welcome Bonus 
  • Your account must meet all applicable eligibility checks


The bonus is paid in the first week of the month following the qualifying salary payment, provided all criteria are met.


Student Stipend Bonus


If you are a student, you may be eligible for a €40 Student Stipend Bonus when your student grant or stipend is paid directly into your Moneybase account through the Student’s Grant Office.

To be eligible:

  • You must be a Maltese resident
  • You must be aged 16 or over 
  • Your student grant or stipend must be paid directly into your Moneybase account 
  • The payment must come through the Student’s Grant Office
  • You must not have already received a Moneybase Welcome Bonus
  • Your account must meet all applicable eligibility checks


The bonus is paid in the first week of the month following the qualifying stipend or grant payment, provided all criteria are met.


Can I receive both the Salary Welcome Bonus and the Student Stipend Bonus?


No. Each customer can receive one Welcome Bonus only.


This applies across both bonus types:

  • Salary Welcome Bonus 
  • Student Stipend Bonus 


If you qualify for both, only one bonus will be paid.


How do I share my Moneybase account details?


You can share your Moneybase account details directly from the app.

  1. Open the Moneybase app
  2. Go to Add Funds
  3. Select Salary or Stipend
  4. Tap Share
  5. The app will create an email with your Moneybase account details
  6. Send this email to your employer or Student’s Grant Office


Please also let us know that you have received, or will be receiving, your salary or stipend into your Moneybase account so we can update your account accordingly.


When will I receive the bonus?


The bonus is paid in the first week of the month following the qualifying payment, provided all eligibility criteria are met.


For example, if your qualifying salary or stipend is received in May, the bonus would be expected in the first week of June, provided all criteria are met.


Important conditions


The Welcome Bonus is only paid if all eligibility criteria are met.


Your salary or stipend is expected to continue being received into your Moneybase account for 12 consecutive months.


If this condition is not met, the bonus may be reversed.


Moneybase may carry out checks before applying the bonus.


Why did I not receive a Welcome Bonus?


You may not receive the bonus if:

  • You already received a Moneybase Welcome Bonus before 
  • Your salary amount was below the qualifying bonus threshold
  • Your salary was not received as a single payment 
  • Your employer does not match the employer listed in your Moneybase profile
  • Your stipend or grant was not received through the Student’s Grant Office 
  • You are not a Maltese resident
  • You do not meet the age requirement
  • Your account does not meet the required eligibility checks
  • The qualifying payment was not received directly into your Moneybase account


If you believe you qualify but have not received your bonus, please contact Moneybase Support through the app so we can check this for you.
