What is an IPO?

Modified on Wed, 7 May at 4:08 PM

An Initial Public Offering, also known under the acronym IPO, is the first time a private company sells its shares, or issues bonds to the public, with the intention to list them on a stock exchange.

Companies do this to raise funds to further grow their company or pay off their debts.

Moneybase offers investors the possibility to participate in various IPOs from time to time.
